A very simple and wholesome snack. Whenever I have people over for tea , this is a quick option along with other snacks. We always have left over curd in the refrigerator and if sour, it would be perfect for this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Rawa 1 cup
  • Curd 1 cup
  • Oil 4 tsp
  • Pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Sesame seeds 1 tbsp
  • Chilli flakes 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves for garnish
  • Oil for greasing
  • Fruit salt 1 tsp

Method :

In a bowl , mix rawa and curd well to remove any lumps . Add salt , pepper and 2 tsp oil and leave the bowl aside for about 5 mins to allow the rawa to swell . The final consistency should be like an idli batter. Keep the steamer ready and grease the dhokla plates well. Add the fruit salt and mix well. Pour the batter up to 3/4 th of the plate and place the stand in the steamer. Cook for around 10 minutes or till a knife comes out clean. Prepare the topping by heating the remaining oil and add sesame seeds and mustard seeds to it. When the sesame seeds are golden add the chilli flakes and allow them to roast for a few seconds . Spread this evenly on the dhokla and allow it to cool before cutting pieces. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with any chutney.
